As part of my role at Zero Tolerance, I lead on the delivery of the Write to End Violence Against Women Awards 2018 and 2019.
It is a huge project, consisting of collecting over 100 submissions, organising a steering group to shortlist them, organising judges to choose winners, and organising a celebration at the parliament as part of the 16 Day of Action to end violence against women.
I was very happy to be able to include some poetry in the evening by booking Bee Asha Singh who blew us all away with her truly outstanding poetry performance – receiving a standing ovation. You can find out more about her in the documentary Spit It Out created by Aruna Productions.
The evening was a huge success and I was very happy with how it went (and that it was over!).
You can read about more about the event here.
